  When I go to a category page, it does not filter based on the category. It is pulling all the posts – http://tatvam.com/category/news/
  
  When I filter it in the CMS, it is only 18 posts.
  
  This is happening for all categories.

  Did you mean the posts from all categoryes are showing at this “News” category page?
  If I understand correct, can I know your wordpress login information that I can check the settings in backend? You can post the information here with private reply.
