Portfolio Setting

Hello,

I have a problem with the portfolio setting : I can’t change category ( video,link,audio,image…) of the portfolio item, I can select the category but when I save the page, nothing change.

How can I fix it ?

I forgot it was about “Urgences au bout du monde : Kenya & Tanzanie ” but it do every time I create a new element to portfolio

Hello,

It’s not working fine, sorry if i’m not not very understandable.

I try to explain better :

When I add a new item in my portfolio : http://laurentbouit.fr/videos/

I can’t change the category of the item in the portfolio setting (image, video, audio, link).
When I try to change it, and update the portfolio item, the change: image to video doesn’t register.

For exemple you can see the thumbnail of : “Urgences au bout du monde”(1st column on the far right) it’s a image pictogram and not the play symbol.

With my wordpress Id and password, if you can go try to change the item : “Urgences au bout du monde : Kenya & Tanzanie ” to change it to a video portfolio item and not image portfolio item like now.

Thanks, it’s clear for me now, you mean change the portfolio type.

Have you changed any php function? it seems the portfolios setting values can’t be saved, but I found this feature is working fine on the original parent theme.

Could you remember what changes you have done? Also, please try to deactivate your plugins one by one until the portfolio settings works fine, I just guess that whether it’s possible caused by a plugin.

– I try to desactivate my plugin one by one, but nothing change
– I try to desactive all my plugin in the same time nothing change too
– I try to desactivate all my plugin and using the parent theme not working too

I don’t remember changed any Php Function, i’m not good in Php, and even if i change any php I would have used Child theme.
To be sure i see the only php files (single.php) on my child theme and compare with the parent theme I don’t see any change.

How can I fix this problem ?

Is it possible to remove the parent theme and reinstall it again? If yes, I can do that.

It’s ok I save all the file I need, if you can do that whithout loose my child theme content it’s great, otherwise it’s ok thank to do that for me.

It will not lose them, if you feel worry about it, just backup it.

I’m uploading the parent theme now, a little bit slow.

It’s very hard to upload theme from here, because it’s too slowly, now I removed the parent theme, but I tried 5 times to upload the theme, it was always failured.

Could you try to upload the parent theme again from your computer? After uploaded, just active the child theme.

I found the portfolio type option still can’t be saved, could you set WP_DEBUG to true in wp-config.php? I want to know whether there’s any error message appeared when I save the the post.

Oh, I found the reason! Please ignore my previous reply.

Just download this file https://www.dropbox.com/s/a8rnb5zmia7tptd/van_portfolios_metabox.php.zip?dl=0 , unzip it, upload van_portfolios_metabox.php to “themes/samsara/functions/plugins/van-portfolios/inc/” folder, overwrite the old file.

Just to be sure, next time I will update the theme I would not have the same problem? Cause I put it in the parent theme and not in the child theme
