      Hello,

We have set up our portfolio in the Old Car theme to look like a bookshelf with small thumbnails of the covers of the books that link to their individual portfolio posts. They can be sorted by the different book categories (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc.).

Our content has grown over the years and we now have about 430 portfolio posts. This is causing a problem because…

If I have the “Portfolios number per page” set to a manageable number like 20-30, the category filter will only sort through the portfolio items that are on that current page, rather than sorting through all 400+ portfolio items. So, for example, there is no way to view all of the poetry posts at one time. Is there a way to make the filter sort through all the posts rather than just the ones that are on the current page?

Attempting another way around the issue, I changed the “Portfolios number per page” to equal the number of posts (430). This way they would all be on one page and the filter could sort all the posts. The problem here is that it takes so long to load 400+ posts that it just make the page look like it isn’t working. Is there a way to maybe make it load in batches the way things do in the masonry layout? That way when someone clicks the filter, it actually will show all the posts in that category.

Please help me with any solution you can think of. We would hate to have to scrap the whole website and pick a new theme because of this one issue.

Here is the URL to the page in question on our website:

      Thank You!
      Jeff

      Hi

I think the only one solution is using infinite scrolling. But only one thing I’m not sure, whether the filter will work for the appended posts. So, I have to give a test. I will let you know later.

      Thanks

Thank you for testing this. Looking forward to your response. I hope it works!

Sorry for the long time delay!

Because we tried many methods to do that, but no luck, if using infinite scrolling, the new posts were dynamically added so that the filter doesn’t work for them. It means the filter still only works for the initial items.

I’m so sorry for that, we will still keep finding a solution for that.
