For make the menu text bigger, try to add the following CSS into Samsara options > Custom style > CSS code
#primary-menu > ul > li{font-size:14px;}You can change the font size to bigger value.
Did you mean change the background color of bottom section? Or the circle button on the navigation?
If you don’t want it to shrinked, I think you must to disable the shrink effect in “Samsara options > General setting > Disable Navigation Shrink Effect”, select “Yes”
If you don’t want it to fullscreen, you don’t put the video code into the “Youtube or Vimeo Iframe Embed Code” field.
Just put it into the content (Editor)

If your theme version is ealier than V1.08, yes, masonry layout is not compatible with WP3.9
Since V1.08, I have fixed this problem, and now the the latest version is V1.1If you have never changed any theme files, please backup your current theme (/wp-content/themes/Samsara) through FTP first, then delete this theme, upload the new version of the theme, that’s it.
