If I follow you correct, please do it as the following steps.
1. Go to “Settings > Visual Composer > Content types”, select “Portfolio” type.
2. Go to “Portfolios > Add Portfolio” or edit the portfolio, look at the “portfolio setting” area below the visual editor, you will find this option “Disable the slideshow in this portfolio”, select “Yes”.
3. Then, click “Visual Composer” button(Backend mode) which is on top left of the visual composer.
4. Create “image Carousel” element and upload images.Thanks
Maybe I see, can you let me know your website link after you changed the font? I want to figure out why it’s not change, so I need to check the source code.

There’s “Gallery Images” section below the visual editor, you can upload images there. Or just click the media upload button which is at the top left of editor, upload the pictures there without insert to the post.You must have valid license to access this content.
